Community Projects Planning Meeting

Join us as we review this past year's Community Projects and plan for 2026–2027. Your ideas and feedback will help shape our upcoming activities, and we'd love to have you be part of the discussion.

When: Monday, August 17, 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Where: Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Blvd., Madison

Tentative Agenda

1. Review the Past Year

Let's look back at our Community Projects events. What worked well? What could we improve? (See below for a list.)

2. Plan for the Coming Year

What events or activities would you like to see on the 2026–2027 calendar?

3. Community Projects Responsibilities (What's Missing?)

Below is the current scope of Community Projects as defined in MKG records. Are there any areas that interest you? Would forming subcommittees help us share the workload?

Current Community Projects Responsibilities

  • Develop a process for sorting donated materials for MKG use (critter knitting, donations to other organizations such as DCI, or the Yarn Sale).
  • Develop a process for sorting and storing finished items made by MKG members for donation.
  • Coordinate delivery of donated finished items to local organizations.
  • Track donations of yarn, other materials, finished items, and donations made to local organizations.
  • Keep Community Projects storage locker(s) organized and purchase supplies as needed, within the approved budget.
  • Report to the Board on donations, inventory, and requests from community organizations.
  • Write monthly newsletter articles highlighting Community Projects activities, accomplishments, and upcoming needs.
  • Publish MKG patterns for Community Projects on the MKG website as needed.
  • Serve as the contact for local organizations requesting knitted or crocheted items.
  • Respond to email and online inquiries related to Community Projects, including donations and materials.
