Mosaic Knitting
Hi there! I'm Ashleigh and if you would have met me in high school, I was always the kid staying up late into the night (and waking up at the crack of dawn) to finish an art project for school, or a gift for a friend — I was also a perfectionist, making sure every color was perfect, and every line was drawn just right…
Then I discovered knitting. Knitting is the best of both worlds, creative but also comforting to that perfectionist side of my personality (I’m definitely an INTJ — if you’re into that kind of thing).
The problem with knitting was I just could never find the right pattern -- so, back in 2018, after leaving my career in the Air Force, starting an MBA program, and still nursing my infant daughter, I decided I needed to create a knitwear design business (I tend to make big decisions in life on a whim…), hence Wanderlust Fiber Arts was born. This baby business is what spurred everything you see in this shop!
When I’m not chasing my three-year-old, sipping coffee that has been reheated in the microwave twelve times, or going for a quick run, you’ll find me knitting a new shawl or dreaming about traveling (even if that means I’m day dreaming during my real day job!) and I've found a recent obsession with polymer clay.
I traveled a bunch over the years, through South America and Asia (go to PERU if you ever get the chance!) — so most of my designs are inspired by somewhere I’ve traveled to.
I love BOLD colors and mosaic (aka slip stitch) colorwork — so if that is what you like too, you’ve come to the right place!
