Description: Using a solid wood 10.5” wood frame loom, participants will learn to weave a square with a continuous strand of cotton yarn.  The completed square makes a superb dishcloth.  The weaving technique learned in class is called continuous strand weaving because there is no loom preparation or special tools required (a simple crochet hook is all that is required).  Looms will be provided for the class and if purchase is desired, the loom cost is $45 (payable to instructor)

Skill Level: Beginner

Homework: None

Tools Needed: Loom and yarn will be provided for class use. Loom may be purchased from instructor for $45.

Materials Fee: $3 materials fee to yarn for class, handout/class notes.

About the teacher

Jane Grogan, from Madison Wisconsin, is primarily a weaver but also loves to spin, crochet and knit.  Jane discovered small hand-held looms in the late 1990’s and was instantly addicted to weaving on looms that are easily carried with her wherever her travels lead.  Jane has a goal of introducing the entire Midwest to the joys if continuous strand weaving on small hand-held looms.
