Course Name: Knitting in the Round Using the Magic Loop Technique
Instructor: Barbara Rottman
Description: Circular needles are great as long as the stitches will stretch around a 18-inch or larger cable. Double pointed needles are generally suggested for smaller circumferences, but some knitters find this cumbersome and slow. Another option is to use two circular needles in place of double pointed needles. Magic Loop, which uses one super long circular needle, can be used to knit even the smallest tubes in the round. It is useful in knitting socks, toys, and baby items.
This class is an introduction into the Magic Loop technique for knitting in the round.
Necessary materials: About 25 grams yarn, Minimum 32-inch circular needle (40-inch preferred) appropriate to yarn weight. Worsted weight wool yarn is suggested for learning, but if you intend to knit socks or other lighter weight items, bring that yarn and appropriate size needles.
Materials you may want to bring: Notebook, pen, markers, scissors,
Required advance work: None
Experience level required: Cast-on, knit
