In this class you will expand your knowledge of Mitered squares by knitting from a chart and adding lace, texture and/or color to your project. Adding color can be a great stash buster. We will discuss re-sizing squares, different ways of picking up stitches and either stacking the squares into a larger unit or turning the square on point and using it as a diamond shape. Multiple ways to use mitered squares will be shown. This class is for the advanced knitter, prior experience with Mitered squares recommended.
Supplies: At least 1 color of worsted-weight yarn, Needles in US 7, 8 OR 9 (4.5, 5 OR 5.5mm), Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, and crochet hooks of various sizes
Homework: Cast on 27 stitches. Work a garter stitch mitered square with your preferred decrease method.

COVID Update: The safety and security of our members, speakers, and staff are our most important priorities. We will require everyone to be fully vaccinated (primary series plus boosters as eligible) to attend in-person classes. Masks will be required for all persons unless presenting to the class. This is our COVID policy as of 7/12/22; it will be updated based on any masking or vaccine requirement changes from city, state, or federal authorities. This policy is based on the CDC guidelines for vaccination status: the CDC recommends COVID-19 primary series vaccines for everyone ages 6 months and older, and COVID-19 boosters for everyone ages 5 years and older, if eligible. You will be required to show proof of vaccination at time of check in and masks will be required throughout the class unless presenting.
