Slipped stitch patterns allow you to create the look of two color knitting while only using one color per row, or add texture using only one color. Mosaic knitting (one form of slipped stitch) brings to mind beautiful Native American fiber art. No stranding, bobbins or changing color within the row. In this class we will explore different techniques as well as the do’s and don’ts of this method of knitting and how to read 2 types of charts.

Supplies: At least 2 colors of worsted-weight yarn, Needles in US 7, 8 OR 9 (4.5, 5 OR 5.5mm), Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, and crochet hooks of various sizes

Homework: None

Class fee: MKG Member = $65, Non-member = $75

Time: 1:00pm-4:00pm

*The Madison Knitters' Guild has a no refunds policy.*

COVID Update: The safety and security of our members, speakers, and staff are our most important priorities. We will require everyone to be fully vaccinated (primary series plus boosters as eligible) to attend in-person classes.  Masks will be required for all persons unless presenting to the class. This is our COVID policy as of 7/12/22; it will be updated based on any masking or vaccine requirement changes from city, state, or federal authorities. This policy is based on the CDC guidelines for vaccination status: the CDC recommends COVID-19 primary series vaccines for everyone ages 6 months and older, and COVID-19 boosters for everyone ages 5 years and older, if eligible. You will be required to show proof of vaccination at time of check in and masks will be required throughout the class unless presenting.
