Enter the realm of knitting meets art!  You will create a custom Maui sunrise hat, and then learn how to create a piece of wall art using the same concepts.

Supplies needed:

1 50 g skein of sport weight wool yarn in a blue colorway that looks like the ocean

1 50 g skein of sport weight wool yarn in a  green colorway that looks like foliage, trees or landscape

1 50 g skein of sport weight yarn in a blue,  pink or yellow colorway that looks like the sky, or sunrise/sunset

About 50 yards of a sport weight wool yarn in a tan or gray colorway that looks like either sand or a road

Appropriate size knitting needles to give you a gauge in stockinette stitch of 22 sts/4 inches, and a pair a size or two smaller for the art piece.  Tape measure, stitch markers, sewing up needle, and any other supplies you usually use.

Skill Level:

- appropriate for advanced beginners, must be able to knit and purl with ease, know how to increase, decrease, sew a seam and change yarns.

Instructor:   Lisa Louie

The RoundTable format.

Members will enter the meeting on mute.

The session will begin with a mini-lecture on the topic by the Instructor.

We ask participants to mute their mic during this segment.

During the lecture segment, use the Chat function on Zoom to write down any questions that pop in your head.

After the lecture segment, the Instructor will review the questions in the Chat and open the RoundTable to discussion by the participants.

An Instructor may email a handout before class to define the discussion or suggest a “homework” to try out a technique that will be discussed during the RoundTable.

Please remember that a RoundTable is an academic discussion. We ask that all participants stay on topic and respect the opinions of other participants.

Zoom link will be sent in receipt for class registration.
