Have you ever had a difficult time starting a lace project from the center?  In this class, Romi show you how! We’ll start by covering some great cast-ons, like Emily Ocker’s center start and the “Belly Button”, and move on to learn how to keep your project's center from “poking out”. Finally, we will close with some great loose bind-offs including a crochet bind-off done with a crochet hook or a knitting needle, a stretchy bind-off that can be used on any project, and a lovely picot bind-off.

Materials:  Fingering weight through Worsted weight yarn (tip:bring light-colored yarn that doesn’t split easily), You should bring a range of needle sizes to try.  Be sure to bring at least one set of 2 of any size circular needle to use for knitting in the round (eg: 2 x US sz 4 circular needles) as well as double -pointed needles.  Be sure to bring needles in larger sizes than recommended on your yarn’s ball band.  Smooth cotton waste yarn (Fingering or Sport weight), Crochet hook of a size appropriate for the waste yarn.

Homework:None
