Speaker: Loose Ends Project - Jen Simon & Masey Kaplan

We Are Matchmakers

The idea for Loose Ends came about when founders, Jennifer Simonic and Masey Kaplan, both avid knitters, realized they had a shared experience: Friends would often ask them to finish blankets, sweaters, or other projects left undone by deceased lover ones. They always do so enthusiastically, understanding what it feels like to wear something a loved one has made. Loose Ends was established in May 2023 as a 501(c).

We are matchmakers.

In knitting patterns, this is noted as K2Tog (knitting two together).

When Loose Ends receives a project submission, we look through our database of finishers to find a good match. With an eye toward geography, skill level, and druthers, we will identify a good fit based on the information volunteer finishers submitted in their profiles. The next step is running this by the finishers themselves to find out if they’re feeling it too.

Once a finisher says yes to a project, we make the connection by introducing the finisher and project holder in an email. Then… we step away and let the project evolve within this new connection. We are always here to troubleshoot, advise or reassign if needed.

Planned Vendors:
  • Kaleidoscope Fibers
  • Sassy Songstress Yarns
  • Purl Talk, LLC

COVID Update Effective July 01, 2023: The safety and security of our members, speakers, and vendor and/or vendor staff are our most important priorities.  Masks are recommended but not required for all persons and guests attending monthly meetings. This is our COVID policy as of 07/01/2023; it will be updated based on any changes from city, state, or federal authorities. We ask that if you are feeling ill, have tested positive for COVID, or have come in contact with someone who has COVID, that you follow the CDC’s isolation recommendations. We also ask that you carpool and pre-register for each meeting.
