Amy Tyler, Stone Sock Fibers
The Value of Process
In this presentation, Amy calls upon her experiences in dance and movement science to address the process vs product dichotomy. Within the context of learning a skill – such as spinning or knitting or weaving – She presents theoretical and practical issues regarding practice, mindful practice, use of feedback, and editing. Amy will provide examples of her process-to-product journeys, from inspiration to completion, and she'll share some insights she's gained from areas as disparate as neuroscience and knitting.
Amy's presentation will be available to attend in-person in the ballroom at the Madison Marriott West, 1313 John Q Hammons Dr, Middleton Wi 53562. Members will also be able to join virtually or view a recording of the meeting afterwards. The Zoom link will be sent the Friday before the event.
All attendees will be required to provide proof of full Covid-19 vaccination and wear a mask. We will not be able to offer accommodations for those who cannot or choose not to be vaccinated. We understand that may mean some people won't be able to attend and hopefully they will be able to join us in the future.
***Please RSVP if you are planning on attending in-person so we can ensure adequate space for social distancing***
Show and tell will be a fashion parade celebrating what we made during the pandemic
