Description

This beautiful entrelac cuff is known in Estonia as “läti lapiline” or Latvian patches and is most common in the southwestern part of Estonia, close to the Latvian border.  Start this cuff with a special 2-color Estonian cast-on.  Time permitting, knitting back backwards will be addressed.

Skill level 

Intermediate

Students must have experience on double pointed needles or working with circular needles on sock/mitten-sized knitting and be able to knit with fine yarns.  

Supplies Needed

  • three colors of sport-weight yarn
  • a set of five size 2 double pointed (dp) needles, and one size 3 or 4 needle (used only for cast-on)
  • two circular needles or one long circular for magic loop can be used, if preferred
