NEW!  Knit-In Silent Auction

For the 2019 Knit-In event, we are adding a Silent Auction.  Our hope is that it will be fun, inspirational, closet-clearing and beneficial to a worthy community organization.

The idea for the Silent Auction was generated at a board meeting when a small group lamented that they had beautiful knitted items which were seldom (or never!) worn.  The members had considered donating these to Community Projects, but were concerned that while their warmth and beauty would be appreciated, non-knitters wouldn’t recognize the investment of time and materials.  So, it was decided that the best use of these items was to offer them to knitters, and donate the proceeds to Second Harvest, a long-standing Guild beneficiary.

At the January and February Guild meetings we will be collecting donations of knitwear, as well as knitting-adjacent items, such as bags and needle sets.  All donations should be in new or like-new condition with no signs of wear.  Donations should also be of a significant value - upwards of $50 in materials - although we would consider a bundle of smaller items.

When you donate, you will need to complete a form with information including the pattern name, yarn, fiber content and estimated cost of materials.  This information will be used to generate a retail value for the auction and a donation form from Second Harvest.

The Silent Auction donation form will shortly be available.

The auction will be open throughout the Knit-In weekend, beginning Friday night and running through 1:00 pm on Sunday.  The auction will close at that time and winners will be able to collect their items Sunday afternoon.  Accommodations will be made for winners not in attendance.

Thank you to Guild members Katie Carpenter and Barbara Rottman for volunteering to take the lead on the auction.

Thank you in advance for your generous participation, whether as a donor or a purchaser.
