Description: This is a fun class with some innovative ideas for starting and finishing your knitted projects, including shawls, hats, mitts, scarves, and more! Jennifer will teach and show several cast-on techniques, including picot cast-on; decorative additions cast-on with flowers, beads, appliques, and more; two-color long tail cast-on (with variations); and I-cord cast on. We’ll also learn picot bind-off, color work bind-off, and several variations of stretchy or firm bind-offs. This class will assist you to answer the question: how do I make the cast-on and bind-off match? Bonus topic, the easiest way to place beads in your knitting!
Skill Level: Intermediate; participants should know long-tail cast on, knitted, & cable cast-on.
Homework: None
Tools Needed: Please bring lighter-colored worsted weight yarn; fingering weight solid or tonal yarn (partial balls fine); needles in various sizes (4,5,6,7,8), both straights or double points & circulars, notions bag with usual tools.
