We will explore some outstanding new places that are bound to wind up on your list of favorites!

7:15 AM Badger Bus will be ready to board at Dutch Mill Park & Ride and leave promptly at 7:30 AM.

8:00 AM - Arrive in Cambridge, WI at the new location of Kaleidoscope Fibers. Owner Karen Anderson will open early just for us so we may enjoy her charming shop with contemporary flair. The store samples are inspiring and the yarn choices to knit them with are irresistible. A well stocked supply of needles and notions and the most current books make this an ideal LYS.
Grab your morning beverage and a bite at
Ripley’s Bakery, The Daily Grind or Camrock Cafe & Sport all conveniently located very close by.
We will depart Cambridge at
9:15 AM.

10:15 AM - Arrive at Sunday Knits in Roscoe, IL where knitwear designer Carol Sunday and her husband Robert will welcome us to their idyllic home studio featuring a mid 19th c. stone house surrounded by a courtyard and lovely wooded gardens. Carol’s original designs include gorgeous sweaters using cables, lace and subtle color-work that are flattering and very wearable. Her accessory line has shawls, scarves, hats and mitts that are both sophisticated and whimsical many with a botanical theme. She imports her own dyed to spec yarns in over 52 colors from an Italian mill in 2 weights and 4 luxurious fiber combinations. Try on the beautiful sample garments hand-knitted by Carol herself and try to resist purchasing skeins or a custom kit, both will of course be available. When you are done shopping stroll through the gardens and relax on the patio or at the gazebo.

We will depart Roscoe at 11:30 AM.

12:30 PM - Arrive in Monroe, WI to discover Orange Kitten Yarns and lunch downtown.
Jocelyn Kline is the friendly proprietor of this tiny gem of a shop. Her well curated selection includes locally spun specialty fibers and art yarns, Jocelyn’s own hand-dyed yak lace shawl kits with beads and thrummed mitten kits. Fun, fiber related treasures perfect as gifts for friends or yourself are artfully mingled to round out the unique selection. Cash or check are the accepted tender so come prepared. Since there is limited space, smaller groups will take shifts shopping and eating.
There are many choices for lunch all just a short walk away around the courthouse square. See attached map for options.
We will depart Monroe at
2:00 PM.

3:00 PM - Arrive at Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts in Mineral Point, WI to experience the Driftless Area Fibre Arts Faire sponsored by de la Pear. This is a home grown celebration of Wisconsin fiber from sheep to shawl. Enjoy communing with local alpacas, watch fiber art demonstrations and soak in the historical charm of this picturesque spot. Fiber, yarn, roving, textile art and original textiles will all be available for purchase as well as local food, cheese and wine.

We will depart Mineral Point at 5:00 PM and return to Madison at 6:00 PM.

Fee is $35.00 for members, $40 for non-members
Registration Deadline: May 27th, this event requires 30 participants.
