TWO COLOR KNITTING

Do you look at items knitted in more than one color and want to knit them, but feel intimidated? Well this is the class for you. In this class we will discuss:

  • types of two color knitting. Student interest will determine which types will be taught. Types may include stripes, two kinds of double knitting, intarsia, mosaic, stranded, fair isle, etc)
  • various two color knitting techniques (as determined by student interest)
  • how to read a two color pattern and chart
  • how to make a two-color sampler using one or more of the techniques covered in class

Skills needed: know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and join in a circle

Materials needed: 

  • 2 or more very different colors of basic worsted weight yarn (no novelty yarn)
  • needles in a size appropriate for your yarn
  • Paper for taking notes
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Stitch markers appropriate for your needles
  • Usual knitting supplies
